This Privacy Policy explains what information Made On Chain ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit this website (the "Site") or engage us for software and LMS development services, and how we use and protect it. We're based in South Africa and aim to handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
This Site is a static, informational website. It does not use cookies, analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or contact forms. We do not collect or store any personal information directly through the Site itself.

The "Get In Touch," "Chat on WhatsApp," and "Send Email" links on this Site open WhatsApp or your email client directly. We don't capture anything from those buttons ourselves. If you choose to message us via WhatsApp or email, we receive whatever information you include (typically your name, contact number or email address, and the content of your message). Those conversations are also subject to the privacy policies of WhatsApp/Meta and your own email provider.
If you engage us for a custom software or LMS project, we may collect additional information necessary to deliver that work, for example business contact details, project requirements, account credentials you choose to share for integration purposes, or data relevant to an LMS implementation (such as student or staff records you ask us to work with). We use the information described above to respond to enquiries, scope and deliver projects, invoice for services, maintain the security of our systems, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
We keep project-related information for as long as needed to deliver and support the relevant engagement, and afterwards only as long as reasonably necessary for record-keeping, tax, or legal purposes.
Under POPIA, you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to request that it be corrected or deleted, and to object to how it's processed, subject to any legal or contractual reasons we may need to retain it. You can also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe we've mishandled your information.
This Site is intended for businesses and adults seeking software or LMS services. Where our LMS work involves processing information relating to learners, including minors, that processing is carried out on behalf of, and under instruction from, the educational institution we're contracted to, in line with the terms of that engagement.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
